Saturday 28 March saw participants in the Rotary Youth Speaks Final including teams from Twyford Church of England high School and Cardinal Wiseman High School head for the Capital and the City of London School for Boys.

We were treated to a great afternoon of presentations. The topics included 'Body Image', 'Body Suicide', 'Consumerism', 'Does it equate to Happiness', 'Curiosity Cured The Cat' and many more.

The two teams representing us certainly did us proud.

Twyford Church of England High School (Acton), were the Best Overall Team in the Senior Section. They chose the topic 'The Truth' The Speaker, Justina Ogunseitan was judged as the best Speaker in the Senior Section, and her twin sister Victoria was judged as best Chairperson. Twyford Church of England High School now go on to represent us in the National Final on Saturday 18 April.

Whilst Cardinal Wiseman High School who spoke on the subject of 'Body Image', 'Body Suicide' just missed out on a place in the Intermediate section of the National Final, however they were awarded the titles of Best Chairperson (Katherine Tyler) and Best Vote of Thanks (Laurel Dunne). They were beaten in to second place (by one point) by the Colchester Royal Grammar School who spoke on the topic of 'Why Learn a Foreign Language'.
