Mayor of Ealing's Charity race Night

The weather was kind to us and we had a record turn out; 82 people for the annual Race Night which we organise on behalf of the Mayor of Ealing. All funds raised on the night went to The Mayor of Ealing, Councillor Ian Green's two chairities, Acton Homeless Concern and West London YMCA.

Thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended we raised a total of £3,445 including £1,500 which was donated by Barclays.

In addition to the 7 races we also had a raffle which raised £344.

As you might expect there was some political gesturing, and one of the horses in the last race had been named "Get Rid of Gordon", but former Councillor Shital Manro pledged £50 to rename the horse "Keep Gordon In", unfortunately it trailed in towards the back of the field.

A good job done and a great result.
