Lawn Bowls against Rotaract

As the new Rotary year starts to gain momentum the Rotary Club of Hanwell & Northfield and the Rotaract Club of Ealing held their first competitive challenge of the year with a Lawn Bowls evening on the 11th of August 2005. Both clubs fielded two teams, who had either never played or at the most played the game once before.

What at first appeared to be a simple game soon proved to be very challenging indeed, with people struggling to get used to the bias that is an intricate part of the Lawn Bowls ball.

The games where played in good spirit with Rotary narrowly running out overall winners by a slender 3 points in the end.

Lawn Bowls is just one of the challenges and events the two clubs take part in each year, other events include charity walks, ten-pin bowling, darts and various social and community events.
