Karen Staartjes of Middlesex Association for the B

On 26th September 2017 the Rotary Club of Hanwell & Northfields was pleased to invite Karen Staartjes to give a talk on the Middlesex Association for the Blind.

Karen gave a very interesting talk about the history of the association which was initially set up in 1922 and went on to explain about the work they do to support people who are blind, partially sighted and deaf-blind.

The association aims to help the various groups lead independent lives through the provision and delivery of a range of high quality services, advice and information.

Karen has been an outstanding advocate for the association for a number of years and it was with great pleasure at the end of her talk that the club presented her with a Rotary Community Recognition Award
