Bonjour mes amis

Our meeting on Tuesday had a French theme to add an international dimension to the evening. Monique with the help of Neil at the Brentham Club organised the evening which included a dinner of French dishes, a wine tasting quiz, a cheese board with French cheeses provided by a local specialist cheese shop and carpet boules gave a sporting finish.

Richard compered the soiree and added some humour(?) to the evening with little gems like “ Did you hear about hear about the Frenchman who jumped into the river in Paris? He was declared in Seine.”

The whole evening was started with a special au d'oeuvre when Angela Lount, one of our members, was given a Paul Harris fellowship to recognise her service to Rotary and the community.

The international dimension is an important part of Rotary promoting peace, preventing diseases, providing access to clean water and sanitation, enhancing maternal and child health and improving basic education and literacy.
