Pitshanger Party in the Park

Sunday the 25th of June 2006 saw members of The Rotary Club of Hanwell & Northfields join dozens of other stallholders in Pitshanger Park, Ealing, to take part in the PCAs Party in the Park.

Alan ONeill and Richard Halliwell had the responsibility for organising the clubs participation in the event this year, which they did with great enthusiasm.

It is the third year running that the club has taken part in the annual event and this year we ran a number of stalls. These included the chance to win a bicycle by throwing four dice and if the dice landed 4 X 4, you won a bike. We also ran a traditional gaming stall which had shuffleboards and "Play Our Cards Right", and the final and probably most popular stall on the day was sports tomboller which featured prizes donated by football clubs and other sporting organisation such as cricket and rugby.

On the Bike stall we were able to display a bicycle which had been loaned to us by Halfords, this encouraged a lot of people to come to the stand even if they were sceptical about winning the prize. It was with great delight that we were able to present Eleanor Williams and Luke Michael with winners certificates after they had both successfully thrown the required 4 x 4 at the first attempt.

The day was a great success with 550 being raised for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People
